Malana Power Company Ltd. (MPCL) has implemented the 86 MW Malana Hydroelectric project on the tributary Malana, Parvati River in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh.

The construction of the 86 MW project was started in January, 1999 and it was commissioned in a record period of 30 months.

The successful commissioning of the Malana Hydroelectric Project in the year 2001 by LNJ Bhilwara Group in a record time has dispelled the myths surrounding hydel power.

MPCL is owned by LNJ Bhilwara Group through HEG Advanced Materials Limited, a listed entity.

The Malana Hydroelectric Plant is located at a distance of 500 kms. from Delhi by road. It is 24 km away from the Bhuntar airport. Water is collected at the plant’s intake which consists of a barrage head regulator, a desilter, and a small concrete dam reservoir.
